Success is an inside job! If I didn’t believe it, I would have an entirely different story to tell.
I grew up in Iowa, but having lived in Waco 30+ years so, I respectfully consider myself a Texan! In those first weeks after arriving in Waco as a young wife and mother, I found a church home with a range of musical offerings and a loving community to complement my deeply spiritual nature, and then I began to learn my way around town. I clipped coupons and started shopping at a different grocery store each week so I could learn to navigate the neighborhoods and streets.
As time progressed, I found myself in the position of a single mom needing a job. I assumed since I had held managerial positions in a bank in Iowa that surely I could easily get hired as a teller here. While getting the job wasn’t quite as easy as I had hoped (I seemed to be overqualified), I did ultimately land a teller position with a local bank.
A few years later, I moved to another company where I learned about investments, cash flow and real estate investing, which made enrolling in Real Estate classes and earning my license a natural next step. I found myself sometimes working 60+ hours a week in mortgage banking and I spent nights and weekends selling real estate.
I have now been a member of the Waco Association of Realtors for more than 14 years. I have served on the Texas Real Estate Political Action Committee for the Texas Association of Realtors and have served on multiple committees at the local board.
From those early days to this, my goal has been to build a business based entirely upon Godly principles, using my gifts to teach, coach and inspire others to become leaders who in turn will teach, coach and inspire others, who in turn will teach, coach and inspire. . .
alinea is Latin for the “paragraph sign” used to indicate a new thought or the beginning of a new paragraph.
When I earned my Broker’s license and established C.I.F. Real Estate Services, Inc. dba alinea in 2006, I purposely chose it to indicate a new thought, a new way to conduct real estate. I fully believe people learn best by being mentored and by mentoring. As a part of living that out, I currently teach investment real estate classes at McLennan Community College.
I have also been a facilitator for the Texas Association of Realtors Leadership Program. As a single mom, I have first-hand experience with a tight budget and month left at the end of the money. It’s only by the grace of God and the education He has exposed me to concerning money management, investing and cash flow that I am where I am today.
I am privileged to work with my only son, Matthew Stufflebeam, in our property management company; Matt also teaches at MCC and is a real estate broker. Having been so blessed, I want to inspire others.
I want to teach renters how to become home owners and to create their own retirement.
I want to inspire home owners to become investors and to reinvest in the community. I want to inspire agents to build relationships in order to sustain careers for a lifetime. I want to inspire a community, by being the example that it is possible for a business based entirely on Godly principles to flourish.
